Private Chat ("we", "our", "the Service") provides a platform to create encrypted, time-limited message links. This Privacy Policy explains what information we process and how we protect it.
2. Information We Collect
- Display name — required when you start a session.
- Email (optional) — only if you choose to provide it.
- Session cookie — an httpOnly cookie to keep you signed in to your dashboard.
- Message metadata — link IDs, expiry times, read status, and encrypted message bodies.
- Phone number (optional) — only if you add it when creating a message for WhatsApp requests.
3. How We Use Data
We use collected data solely to operate the Service: deliver messages, enforce expiry, prevent abuse, and display your dashboard. We do not sell personal data to third parties.
4. Encryption & Retention
Message content is encrypted before storage. Links expire after 24 hours and are marked expired; cleanup jobs remove expired records. Session cookies last up to 30 days unless you log out.
5. Your Rights
You may stop using the Service at any time and clear your session via logout. For data requests or deletion, contact the operator listed on the home page branding.
6. Changes
We may update this policy; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
